The pad footing and SIPs (structurally insulated panels) construction is well suited the owner builder. It provides straight forward and rapid constructions without a high dependence on specialist trades. SIPs also allow for exceptional levels of airtightness and insulation up to R7. Pad type footings greatly reduce greenhouse emissions compared to concrete slabs. The zinc cladding is maintenance free.

Design flexibility

This design can also be built as a standalone granny flat and adapted to incorporate a kitchenette. The exterior can be toned down with a Colorbond cladding. The sun-shading can be adjusted to suit different sites. The pad footing allows heights to be adjusted to ensure a floor level with the existing house.
